Still Got My Seed Leaves

I was quite excited to see these guys this morning. Looks like the Kale is wasting no time in catching up to the Arugula and Lettuce. I'm starting to realize how much of a problem this seed tray brand is going to be when I transplant. You see, the tray came with pellets but these pellets do not have a mesh around them. It's weird because the refills they sell have meshes. I would look closely at the included pellets if you decide to buy a seed-starting tray kit. The kind with the biodegradable meshes are best for transplanting as you don't disturb the fragile new root systems.

On the left are two pictures of Cypress Vine. I haven't decided where to plant it yet. I'm thinking of putting it on our fence to create an additional barrier between our hose and the neighbors. The neighbor is a heavy smoker so I would also appreciate something that catches that foulness before it can get to me. I have asthma and it really does not like tobacco.

I find it interesting that the seedlings have a pinkish tinge to them. I generally don't grow things that aren't meant for eating so I'm unsure as to how common this is but I've never seen that before. The lettuce is actually a red variety but the seedlings are still green. I'll be looking forward to seeing how this vine turns out.

I got a variety that shows tree different flower colors. I'm not sure whether I'll see all three in the same vine but I'll blog about it when I find out. I don't know if these are scented but I'm going to plant some Moonflowers along with them so that the garden gets some nightblooms in it. The Moonflowers do give off a scent but I have yet to successfully grow them due to negligence on my part. Hopefully, I do better this year.

These are going to grow up to be Yellow Pear Tomatoes. I've got a love for all things odd, quirky, and overall strange. I love having things that you can't go out and get at the local mega store. I don't like mega stores by the way but they're an evil I have to live with. I really should find a local supplier for my garden needs. It'd probably be cheaper soil-wise too. I think I'm in love with root systems. They're just so delicate looking.

I leave you with these last pics of the Cucumbers. Their roots are expanding. I hope that these two do okay. I'm a bit concerned at how exposed their roots are right now. It does give me a good indicator of how the other Cucumbers are progressing though.
